Time is money

It is often said that "time is money," and this is particularly true when assessing both the short and long term benefits and cost savings by choosing US Rubber Mulch for your next project, whatever the application.

For playground fall safety surfacing and landscaping, it lasts for 25 years or more, providing the very same functional benefits along the entire lifespan as it does on day one, with very minimal maintenance, and no other type of surfacing can honestly say this. Because it's heavier than wood mulch, it won't blow away in high winds or wash out in heavy rain or run-off, it doesn't have to be replaced every two years as is recommended for playground sand and wood products. It also doesn't require anything near the frequency of raking, churning and re-topping common to silica and EWF products in playgrounds. This saves time and money, with much higher levels of safety for fall injury protection.

For landscaping areas, including common areas, parkways, medians, near community entrances, or anywhere the overall aesthetic appearance or "curb appeal" is important to maintain, nothing provides the lasting beauty and benefits of our rubber mulch. Quite simply, it stays put wherever you place it, maintaining soil moisture better than anything else, avoiding all of the numerous problems associated with wood mulch products, and it doesn't have to be constantly replaced up to 8 times each and every year (like we've seen in many upper scale locations, around golf courses, etc.). Even if the wood mulch was available for free, you still have the time and expense of the labot necessary to spread it out, which quickly amounts to far more time and money spent than a single application of US Rubber Mulch (and it doesn't come with the numerous problems common to wood mulch).

In playgrounds, all that's recommended is an occasional raking to level off the high and low areas, or "kick out effect" of typically +/- 2" to 3", depending on the age(s) of child(ren) and number of them using the playground. This same factors affect the frequency and amount of re-topping to maintain the proper depth, which is normally about 5% to 10% every 3 to 5 years. WIth landscaping and playgrounds, leaves and debris are easily blown out without disturbing the rubber mulch, keeping the beautiful appearance while maintaining all of the functional benefits for 25 years or more. Once again, time is money, and when saving time, money is saved by reducing labor costs, especially by choosing rubber mulch.
