Cost savings

Only 6" thickness of our rubber mulch provides the best fall impact injury protection available, up to 80% better than other rubber mulches! Offering the best fall height protection that lasts 25 years or more, with an initial cost of about $5 per square foot, helps to realize nice savings quickly. It's easy to maintain with minimal upkeep, with only periodic re-topping every 3-5 years at an average of only 5%-10%, upkeep is nearly non-existent. It won't attract pests, microbes, or migrate out with wind or rain, and leaves are easily blown out without disturbing the rubber mulch.

If it's landscaping mulch you're looking for, there's really nothing that can compare, with all the benefits as playgrounds, with only a 2" recommended thickness outperforming up to 6" of other types of mulches. It can't absorb moisture to attract microbes that can attack sensitive plant roots, nor does it provide the entvironment loved by insects, rodents and other pests. It keeps the soil cooler, retains moisture better, at a cost that's hard to beat with a 25+ year life expectancy.

Other products used for playground safety surfacing and landscaping mulch are actually inferior when it comes to our rubber mulch, this is due to a number of benefits, without the hassles, inconveniences, liabilties, and high maintenance costs of alternatives that really make them not really that viable when compared. There are indications that insurance underwriters are more closely looking at the actuarial safety and injury data for different playground surfaces, providing discounts to those with the safest fall injury protection surface, with potential higher assessment factors or basis for declining and/or cancelling coverage (and claims). In other words, you could get a discount on your insurance based on the #1 best safety of our product for fall impact protection on a playground. Sometimes it's helpful to speak with your agent in advance to see if they rate based on type of playgrpound surface used, and provide them the ASTM playground impact safety testing data for the different products, or you send them to this website! Our founder has also been CA licensed in health & life for years, although not active in that.

Let's say you have 9,000 square feet to cover with landscaping mulch, which would amount to 20 pallets at 450 square feet of 2" thickness coverage. Your cost without shipping would likely be less than $1.50 per squre foot, with applicable volume discounts, or around $1.60 per square foot with shipping included.* Because playgrounds require a 6" depth, with each pallet covering 127 square feet (due to natural compaction that varies with thickness), you're looking at those 20 pallets covering a 2,540 square feet safety zone, with the best fall height and impact injury protection that lasts for over 25 years, at a cost of around $5 [er square foot without shipping, or under $5.70 per square foot with shipping.

Whichever way you go, the savings really add up quickly with an initial cost that really isn't that much, when compared to the labor costs associated with other products that need to be topped off more frequently.
